Daniel Spring, MA, RCC

Life’s unexpected challenges can leave you feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about your next steps. As your counsellor, I aim to meet you where you are, offering compassionate guidance at your own pace. Together, we will work in a judgment-free, supportive space to develop practical tools for navigating difficulties, regaining control, and moving toward a healthier, more fulfilling life. My focus is on helping you find peace of mind and improving your overall well-being.

With years of experience as a registered clinical counsellor (RCC) and a sociopsychology specialist actively engaged in research, I have supported clients facing depression, anxiety, addiction, Autism, ADHD/ADD, OCD, and PTSD. My academic background and professional practice have equipped me with insights into neurodiversity, including ADHD, OCD, and Autism.

My studies and research centered on topics such as ADHD, OCD, and Autism, as well as therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Processing Therapy, interventions for anxiety and depression, and strategies for supporting parents through Parenting Therapy.

My Therapeutic Approach

I bring a wealth of training, supervision, and academic research to my counselling practice, allowing me to tailor my approach to each client’s unique needs. My training includes:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Solution-Focused (Brief) Therapy
  • Dream Therapy and Nightmare Protocol
  • Mindfulness Therapy
  • Healthy Relationships Therapy
  • Group Therapy
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Trauma-Informed Therapy
  • Therapy for Emotional Abuse
  • Suicide Prevention Strategies
  • Anger Management Therapy

My doctoral-level research takes a look at autism and neurodiversity within a systems-theory based framework. I will be collecting data from qualitative interviews for a thematic analysis that focuses on wellness contexts. This project is supported with generous funding from Canada’s Social Sciences Health Research Council and Mitacs. If you have questions about this research or would like to engage in counselling with me, please contact dan@equimindcounselling.com
